I know this is a week late, but i think that it works out pretty good -
Maze Level. Simple version
In this simple maze, the player will start in the lower left hand corner. The player will be told what is expected from him and the challenge(s) he is going to face by the Baron. The Baron will tell him exactly what monter is in the maze with him, and he will tell the player what the monster will do if said monster was to find the player, most of the time being a gruesome long and painful death.
The green line is the correct ways out of the this maze, but the player in game will not know the exact path. The maze will be dark and the player will only have a flash light at his disposal.
The player will have to play according to what monster is in the maze with him, if the monster can easily detect light than the player might want to keep his flashlight off most of the time whereas if the monster can hear foot steps well, then the player might want to walk slower than normal.
The game continues in till the Player finds the exit. If the player starts to slow or become discouraged, the Baron will talk to them, saying motivating things to keep the player going.
After a certain amount of time, the flash light will run out of batteries in less the player can find more hidden in the maze. Also, if the player plays for too long and does not find the exit or get killed, they will die from dehydration.
If the Player is to run into the monster, they are to try to hide from it by using the maze or try to distract it with various items from rocks to bones from other humans.The Player CANNOT battle the monster. If the player fails to get away from the monster, the monster will catch up and trigger a short cutscene in which the player gets killed.
