Minor Project 10 Opt 1

 Maze Pitch

Maze Name ( Subject to Change): Hunted
Back Story:  A very wealthy genetic scientist creates monsters in his spare time. He considers these monsters has his children and wants them to survive. His creations, however, will only eat human flesh. His desire for his creations continued existence drives him to go to cities and kidnap people. After feeding his creations the unconscious people for a period of time, he started to feel bad for the people. Not willing to see his creations starve, he built a maze in which to put the people he kidnaps. He decided that the maze will give the people he kidnaps a chance of survival.  After the person wakes up, he releases his creations to hunt and feed.  After a few feeding sessions, the people often would give up hope and just accept death if they could not find their way out, so the scientist set up several video cameras and megaphones so that he could communicate with them in hopes to motivating them to press on. He wants to see them escape the maze and live, but he also wants his creations to find them and feed. Either way, for him, it is a win-win. The scientist is in the maze somewhere, in a secret room monitoring all the progress the person makes.

Overview of the game and a walk through of how it will work: The player is to play as the person kidnapped by the scientist. The goal of the player is to navigate through the maze to find the exist. Unknown to the player, the scientist is watching his progress from a hidden room somewhere in the maze. If the player is to find the room, the player can then exact his revenge on the scientist.
The player is to have a flashlight and nothing else. As the player goes through the maze, there will be batteries for the flashlight. If the player does run out of power for his flashlight, the will be unable to see clearly in the darkness of the maze. Though, there will be some lights that will show the way in random sections of the maze, the player will still have to find batteries.
The player would also randomly come across the dead bodies of other people who have died trying to get out. The dead bodies would contain car keys and other small objects that could be used as diversion devices. The play will have the ability to throw these objects to attract the attention of the monster in the maze with them.   Along with being able to throw objects to distract the monster, the play can also turn  off their flash light. This will engulf the player in darkness, but it will also make the player invisible to the monster from a distance. The player could use this if the monster was right in front of them, but didn’t notice them ye because he was too far away.

Why are we making this game? :
This games is to be a horror – survival game with some elements of puzzle, humor, and making moral choices. Horror because of the environment, survival because of the monster hunting you, puzzle because your in a maze, humor because of the scientist talking to you as you venture through the maze and moral decisions because if the player is to find the hidden room with the scientist in it, the player can make the choice of either exacting his revenge on the scientist for kidnapping him or try to figure out a deal or something to get the scientist to let him out of the maze ( Remember, the scientist wants the person to live, but also doesn't. It might take some convincing.)
If this game is to made and everything works out, It would be a first in the gaming world.  I believe it is worth a shot.

Similar Games:  There are no games that are exactly like this games, but there are elements in this game that are borrowed from..
